Winter Vegan Broth

Try our tasty ‘no bone’ broth for a healthy winter warmer! An alternative to the standard bone broth, this tasty recipe has no bones but all that yummy flavour and nutrition. It is packed full of goodness with the addition of Biogenic Aloe Vera and Natural B Complex – a perfect soup for the soul!

Servings 8 serves

INGREDIENTS
12 cups of filtered water
1 Tbsp extra-virgin olive oil (or coconut oil)
1 medium onion quartered
1 large garlic bulb smashed
1 thumb-sized piece of ginger roughly chopped
1 ½ cup of greens (silverbeet, kale or spinach)
3-4 cups of mixed chopped vegetables
(don’t bother to peel them) e.g carrot, cabbage
– white and red, fresh mushrooms, leeks, celery, bok
choy, brussel sprouts, zucchini, capsicum, broccoli,
cauliflower, spring onions etc.
½ cup dried shiitake mushrooms
30g dried wakame seaweed
Small sprig of fresh thyme
2 Tbsp ground turmeric
2 Tbsp Tamari sauce

ADD AFTER COOKING AND STRAINING:
• A bunch of fresh coriander, parsley or other herb of your choice
• 4 Tbsp Lifestream biogenic Aloe Vera juice
• 2 Tbsp Lifestream natural B complex for flavour and added
nutrients
• 2 Tbsp Karengo fronds (optional)
• Himalayan salt, and ground pepper to taste
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Simply add all the ingredients to cook into to a large pot.
Bring to a boil then simmer on a low heat, with the lid on, for about
45 minutes.
2. Once everything has been cooked down, strain the liquid into a
large bowl.
3. Serve immediately with the fresh herbs, Lifestream Aloe Vera,
Natural B complex, the Karengo fronds, any salt and pepper stirred
through. Can be cooled and frozen for later after straining.
